Accessing the Digital Version of the Textbook

 

As I listed in earlier announcements and in the course syllabus, all students who register for the CIS 205 course pay a course fee to have All-Inclusive access to the courses textbook.    In this course, access to the digital version of the course's textbook is included.   Students will need access to the course textbook during the first week of the semester.  All assignments and software downloads and configurations are not connected to the course's assigned textbook.  I am providing supplementary reading material and guided video tutorials for the applied practice assignments published for week 1.

 

 Starting next week, the first six database quizzes up until midterm will be connected to the course's textbook. Below are instructions on how to access the digital version of the course's text through Canvas.

 

 

1. Click on the link named "Link to Access Digital Version of the Textbook (BryteWave Course Materials)" at the top of the Course Introduction Module.
   
   
2. This opens the BryteWave My Shelf window.
   
   
3. Click on the Book Link on the left side of the window.
   
   
4. In the following window click the  Blue Button with the label "Read Now"
   
   
5. You will now have access to the Digital Version of the Textbook through the BryteWave My Shelf interface
   
   
6. On the right side of the window you will see what is called a Hamburger Button or Menu.  This is three lines stacked on top of each other. This Hamburger Button or Menu will be your access to the different chapters and chapter sections in the textbook.
