Highlights This Week

One of the main focuses of the second half of the week is practicing creating some Data Models using ER Diagram notations.  One of the models uses the Chen Notation and the other practice Model uses the Crowfoot Notation.

This section of the week continues to focus on developing your skill to create single table queries based on Metadata provided for a table in a database system.  There are several practice assignments and a weekly assignment related to developing your skill in this area.  Weekly Homework Assignments should be completed outside of regular class time.  In online courses, reading assignments and Video guides, and Tutorials are considered regular class time.

Additionally, in This section of the week, the class will review the concept of the Three-Tiered System and the Enterprise Database Management System. These are pivotal constructs in the evaluation of the modern database management system.

Finally, at the end of this week, the class begins to study the concept of Data Modeling.  You should begin to study the Guided Video Tutorials in this week's module.  Data modeling will be a topic that will stretch over several weeks of the course. We will practice modeling over the next three to four weeks.
