My name is Leah Joanna Labov and I have taught at CCP for nine years.

My first ESL teaching experiences were teaching English to my Mexican neighbors when I lived in Los Angeles many years ago. I really enjoyed this experience and decided to become an ESL teacher! Later, I taught ESL at Drexel University, Camden County College, the Curtis Institute of Music and Wuhan University in China. I have also taught teachers how to teach ESL at the University of Pennsylvania, Teachers College, New York University and Rutgers University.

What I like the most about teaching at CCP are my wonderful students because they really want to learn and improve their lives! It is a joy for me to teach my classes because the students work hard and have fun in these classes. I really appreciate the other professors at CCP because they are excellent instructors and do everything that they can to teach wonderful classes.

My professional interests are sharing ways to improve my students’ abilities to read and write in English. With that in mind, I give presentations to the other professors about how I teach ESL. I also meet with other ESL professors to discuss our methods of teaching ESL and learn from each other. In addition, I work with other professors to organize presentations at conferences.

My hobbies are watching international movies and traveling internationally. I also enjoy reading interesting books about many topics. I have enjoyed studying other languages such as Spanish, French, Italian, German and Chinese. Finally, I love cooking vegan meals. I am a vegan, which means that I do not eat meat of any kind nor dairy or eggs. I do not eat cows, pigs, chickens or fish.
